Low
Timetable
01/03/21 - 05/03/21: I will be doing the research and development element to my FMP. This means I will be finding resources like articles and videos for example to help me have a successful FMP. I will then present my ideas to my supervisor and get feedback on it.
08/03/21 – 21/03/21: I will make changes or add to my research I had done from the tips my supervisor had given me then submit it.
22/03/21 – 09/04/21: In this week I will do pre-production which includes making recce sheets, risk assessment and a script. However, as it’s an interview style documentary, the script will be of the questions nothing else.
12/04/21 – 19/04/21: I will start on production by filming some content too see how I like the interviewee’s to be in shot e.g. standing, sitting etc. and too see what camera angle’s work best.
22/04/21 – 26/04/21: I will start post-production meaning I will go on Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create the title of the documentary and possible some cartoon style images.
24/04/21 – 30/04/21: I will create a rough cut of my documentary which my supervisor will then give me feedback on. I will evaluate it myself as well and see what I want to change/amend for when I film the actual thing.
03/04/21 – 10/04/21: In this week I will film the whole documentary and after that I will edit it. I will take time in my spare time to do this because I want it to be high quality.
11/05/21 – 14/05/21: I will evaluate my work thoroughly and at the end hand in everything I’ve done for my FMP.

Amended Timetable
Right now according to my timetable, I should be starting production by filming the interviews to test out the angles, lighting and placement of the interviewee in the shots. However I have only just started on the pre-production work but I should've finished it four days ago. I am aware that I am now behind on schedule but I will amend my timetable so that it is more suitable and realistic to the working stage I am at right now.

13/04/2021 - 18/04/2021: Start pre-production work which entails of making a script, recce sheets and risk assessment sheet.
19/04/2021 - 25/04/2021: I will start production by filming the interviews to see which angles, lighting and placement of the interviewees in the shot I like best. I will also start post--production by creating the title of my documentary in Adobe Photoshop.
26/04/2021 - 02/05/2021: In this week I will create a rough cut for my documentary and get feedback from my supervisor. From their advice and me analysing it, I will decide which parts need amending or if I need to add or takeaway anything in it.
03/05/2021 - 11/05/2021: During this time I will do the changes I need to do to my documentary which might be by filming extra content, edit it more etc.
12/05/2021 - 14/05/2021: Finally, I will do the evaluation for my work and hand everything in at the end.

Script
As it is an interview documentary, I won't be able to write the interviewees answers in my script as I do not know what they will say until the interview happens. This means that my script will only consist of questions which I (the interviewer) will be asking the interviewees in the interview. I don't want to have a presenter in my documentary as I want the audiences attention to be fully focused on the interviewees. This means I won't have any introduction in my documentary so the interviewees will be answering the questions right away.

Interview Questions:
Question 1: What did you get you get up to before the Lockdown?
Question 2: How did you feel when the Lockdown was announced in March 2020?
Question 3: How did the Lockdown affect your future or current plans?
Question 4: What did you do in the Lockdown?
Question 5: When the rules were eased in late May 2020, did you do anything that you couldn't in Lockdown?
Question 6: How did you feel when the Lockdown in December 2020 started?
Question 7: Now the vaccine is here and the government have announced everything should be back to normal on June 21st 2021, have you got any plans?

James' Interview Draft:
I have edited the footage from the interview I filmed of James Norman and also the videos and images he sent me from his iPhone from before during and after Lockdown. I am happy with what I have done with it all as they all fit well together. However if I were to change it I would make the footage of the interview brighter as it looks rather dark which I do not like the look of as it gives a cold feel to the audience. I also would ask James to send me more images and videos particularly when he was in lockdown because I couldn't use any for some of the interview questions as they wouldn't of fit in with what he was saying.

Enya's Interview Draft:

Gibbs Reflective Cycle

Description:
I have edited the first question from Enya's interview to see how I feel with the footage I have. I got the footage from the first question I filmed and added photos and videos that Enya sent me from her camera roll on her phone. I expected to be happy with the footage from the interview because we took our time to film it so no mistakes were made also, Enya sent me a lot of photos and videos so I could easily find ones that were suitable to show with what she is saying in the interview. This resulted in me not taking long to edit so I could use the time I had spare to work on Hus' interview.

Feelings:
While filming the interview I felt calm and relaxed about it because Enya and I had no other plans for the rest of the day so it didn't matter how long it took. Because of this, we had plenty of time to film it so no mistakes happened and if they did we had time to fix them. Now that I have edited the first question, I am very happy with it as the lighting is just how I wanted it to be as it is bright and the camera angle is perfect as the audience can see her well. Now looking back, I am happy and content with the work I have done.

Evaluation:
By scheduling a day and time and allowing enough time to film the interview, made the filming process flow nicely as there was no stress to get it done quickly. Editing it all was fun to do because I had a lot of photos and videos that Enya sent me to choose from. On the other hand, the only thing that didn't go quite so well was Enya's confidence to be filmed in the interview. However, as we had a lot of times on our hands, I could talk her through the process and motivate her by saying that there is nothing to be worried about as no one is judging.

Analysis:
I believe the filming went to so well because I allowed enough time to film it so no stress came about. It was a sunny day when we filmed and as we was filming in the conservatory in Enya's house (this is a room with windows surround it) so the natural light was beaming through every angle which made the room light up and the lighting was making Enya stand out on the camera. The editing went well because I didn't have to change the lighting or colour in the footage as I was already happy with it and also, I had a wide variety of images and videos from Enya's phone to choose from so time wasn't wasted by having to ask her to send me more. I think by not talking to Enya about what the interview will consist of and giving her a confidence boost, is the reason why it took her a few takes to be able to answer the question properly.

Conclusion:
I learnt that talking the interviewee first is important more for there benefit so they feel comfortable and confident to answer the questions whilst being filmed. This will also save time filming as not as many takes of filming will have to happen.

Action Plan:
In future, I will make sure to have a two too five minute chat with the interviewee before I start filming the interview so they can mentally prepare for it and the filming will go quick as not as many re-takes will need to happen.

Hus' Interview Draft:

Gibbs Reflective Cycle

Description:
I filmed Hus' interview then uploaded the footage and the images and videos from Hus' phone that he sent me, and then edited the first question. I wanted to edit the first question fully before the other questions so I could see if I liked it or not and too see if I needed to re-film the interview or make him send me more images and videos.

Feelings:
While setting up to film the interview, I was frustrated that the large LED light didn't work as I was relying on that as a light source. Luckily I managed to use natural light beaming through the window as a light source so I felt calm when I discovered this. Hus answered every question well as I realised he went into more detail compared to the other interviewees which made me happy as I knew it will be interesting for the audience to listen to my documentary. I could tell he felt confident in front of the camera and that he was comfortable to answer the questions. When editing, I felt a little disappointed to the fact that the lighting wasn't 100% perfect as I knew it would've been better if I had the large LED light. However, I do think the footage does look good it is just frustrating that I know it could be better.

Evaluation:
The main thing that went well was filming the interview as it only took 20 - 30 minutes and Hus answered the questions in a lot of detail which is what I wanted. However what didn't go so well was setting up the equipment for the interview as the large LED light didn't work. when editing, I realised Hus didn't send me enough images and videos from his camera roll on his phone, so it was hard to use ones that were suitable with what he is saying in the interview. I remained positive through out all of this because I knew I had time to ask Hus to send me more stuff.

Analysis:
I believe the filming went to well because Hus is a confident person so he wasn't shy in front of the camera. Unlike my other interviewee Enya, Hus only had to re-film one question because he stuttered too much so he wanted to film it again. This made filming the interview quick and enjoyable for both of us. Editing the first question went well with the fact I knew what I was doing and it took no time to do because I organised all my footage by labelling every shot and putting them into folders so it made it easy for me to find the correct ones. However, a part of it didn't quite go well because I found it difficult to find the right images and videos that Hus had sent me from his camera roll. I found this difficult to do because Hus hadn't sent me enough to choose from so I had to try work with what I had. When I had to set up the large LED light to film the interview, it for some reason wouldn't turn on. I checked the battery's and they were in properly so I couldn't figure out why this was. This made me stress a little but I managed to use natural light instead because I didn't want to waste anymore time on the large LED light.

Conclusion:
I have learnt from the light situation that I should consider to allow time for mistakes/hiccups like these to happen so I can sort them out without wasting time and being stressed out. I have also learnt that I should ask for the amount of images and videos I need my interviewees to send me so I don't have to ask them to send me more which wastes time. This means that I need more organisational skills to handle both these situations better as they both wasted time.

Action Plan:
When filming again, I will do it differently by adding a part in the production schedule which will be time to fix or sort out any mistakes/hiccups which may be with the equipment, location due to weather, cast/crew etc. I am certain that I will do this because I think it will help me a lot in future and I will remind myself how stressful it is to not have enough time while in production.

Question Titles:
I went onto Adobe After Effects and create seven different projects for each question I asked in the interviews. I did this so I could create the questions on a blank page using an interesting font. I used the font 'Lemondrop' from the website 'DaFont' as I found it in my research I did the other week and it was one of my favourites. I wanted the font to be different to the font I used for the title of my documentary because it will make the font for the title more special as it hasn't been used again in my documentary. I used neutral colours in the text and as the background as they are the sort of colours my target audience likes as it is 'trendy' at the moment.

I feel happy that I completed this task rather quickly as it only took me one lesson to do so I have time to start on another task. I'm satisfied with the result of the design I made as I like the colours and fonts I used. I'm glad I made the design simple so it will be easy for the audience to read the questions.

It was straight forward to create this because not many tools where needed just the shape, text and paint tool. I changed the settings so the grid was visible so I could place the text centre in the page.

I think it went so well because it wasn't technical to do and when I started one it became a habit to do as I had to repeat the process seven times.

I remained positive while doing this task as I had never done it before but went in with an open mind of what to do. After I looked at all the tools on on the app I knew how to create it and I am happy with the results. So next time I will remain positive when starting something new as I feel it helps to let everything flow well.
